This document provides a brief overview of the Math Grabber‚Ñ¢ XTension from Meadows Information Systems, Inc.
 
What is a Grabber‚Ñ¢ ?
The Grabber‚Ñ¢ XTensions are a set of new QuarkXPress tools designed primarily for working with text and tabs, and also for printing. Together, the Grabber‚Ñ¢ family of XTensions provide a valuable toolset which makes QuarkXPress much faster and easier to use.
All of the Grabbers™ make use of a unique new “Marquee” method of text and element selection. Forget about drag-selecting the old-fashioned way...just click one of the tools and “grab” what you need to change.
To use a Grabber‚Ñ¢ tool, select it from the QuarkXPress tool palette and drag a marquee around the page area you want to change. Fill in a dialog and click OK. The Grabber‚Ñ¢ figures out what you selected, and applies your changes automatically! Each of the Grabbers‚Ñ¢ is described below:
Text Grabber‚Ñ¢ allows you to modify text attributes anywhere on the page, regardless of which box(es) contain the text. Text Grabber‚Ñ¢ is perfect for changing complete columns of text within tabular composition.
Tab Grabber‚Ñ¢ lets you Marquee groups of tab stops and adjust them all at once. This includes interactively nudging the tab position, changing the alignment or modifying the fill character.
Copy Grabber‚Ñ¢ is used to Cut, Copy and Paste text vertically, even across multiple text boxes. The ideal tool for working with tabular material such as annual reports. Also great for removing bullets at the beginning of a series of paragraphs.
Math Grabber‚Ñ¢ allows you to perform spreadsheet-like calculations on numerical text appearing anywhere in a QuarkXPress document. Great for updating price charts and financials.
Print Grabber‚Ñ¢ gives you the means to select and print any portion of a Quark document page. You can also save the page area or selected box as an EPS graphic. Print Grabber is the ideal tool for logo creation.
System Requirements
All Meadows XTensions will operate under Macintosh System software version 7.x and QuarkXPress v3.31 or later.
Installation
To install any of our XTensions, simply drag the XTension into the same folder where your QuarkXPress application is loaded. Then, launch QuarkXPress. The XTension will load automatically.
You may optionally drag the XTensions into the XTension folder which is located in the same folder where your QuarkXPress application is loaded.

Software License Agreement
MEADOWS INFORMATION SYSTEMS, INC. SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE OPENING THE SOFTWARE ENVELOPE, OR DOWNLOADING THE SOFTWARE ON-LINE! THIS AGREEMENT CONSTITUTES A LEGAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU, THE END USER, AND MEADOWS INFORMATION SYSTEMS, INC. ("MEADOWS"). OPENING/DOWNLOADING THIS PACKAGE INDICATES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THEM, PROMPTLY RETURN THE UNOPENED PACKAGE TO THE PLACE WHERE YOU OBTAINED IT AND YOUR MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED. IF YOU ARE PURCHASING THE SOFTWARE ON-LINE, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE PACKAGE IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE TERMS.
1. Grant of License. The computer program enclosed is licensed, not sold, to you by Meadows Information Systems, Inc. for use under the terms of this license. Meadows grants to you the right to use this copy of the enclosed program (the "software"). You may not use the software simultaneously on more computers than the license was purchased for.
2. Copy Restrictions. Ownership of Software. You own the media on which the program is recorded; Meadows retains title to the Software including copies, regardless of form or media, and to all copyrights therein. The Software and accompanying written materials are copyrighted. You may either (a) transfer the Software to a single hard disk and retain the original Software for backup purposes, or (b) make one copy of the Software solely for backup or archival purposes.
3. Transfer Restrictions. This software license is not transferrable under any conditions. This software contains trade secrets, and to protect them, you may not modify, adapt, translate, rent, lease, loan, resell, distribute, create derivative works based upon the software, merge, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software or any part thereof.
4. Termination. This License is effective until terminated. This license will terminate immediately without notice from Meadows if you fail to comply with any of its provisions. Upon termination, you agree to destroy or purge all copies of the Software and accompanying written materials.
5. LIMITED WARRANTY. As its only warranty under this Agreement, Meadows warrants the media on which the Software is provided to be free from defects in materials under normal use for a period of 90 days from the date of delivery to you as evidenced by your purchase receipt. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY WARRANTED HEREIN, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE PROGRAM IS WITH YOU. MEADOWS DOES NOT WARRANTY THAT THE FUNCTIONS CONTAINED IN THE SOFTWARE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR THAT THE OPERATION OF THE PROGRAM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR FREE OR THAT PROGRAM DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC, LIMITED RIGHTS. YOU MAY HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.
6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. Meadows' entire liability and your sole remedy under this License is, at Meadows' option, either (a) return of payment as evidenced by a copy of your purchase receipt; or (b) replacement of media not meeting Meadows' Limited Warranty. IN NO EVENT WILL MEADOWS OR ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR DIRECT DAMAGES (INCLUDING DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS, INTERRUPTION, INFORMATION, OR THE LIKE), ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR THE INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE OR ACCOMPANYING WRITTEN MATERIALS EVEN IF MEADOWS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
7. Governing Law. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
8. U.S. Government Restricted Rights. The Software and documentation is provided with RESTRICTED RIGHTS. Use, duplication or disclosure by the Government is subject to restrictions as set forth in subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of The Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software clause at 252.227-7013.
